STRATEGIC GIVING FOR SASS
Planned giving gives you the opportunity to keep our mission funded and moving forward for years to come. Through retirement assets, bequests, annuities and more, here is an overview of gift-giving methods that can support us today and into the future.
Saline Area Social Service works to provide food, emergency aid, and more for the people of the Saline community. Your ongoing support gives us the means to continue this vital work. We thank you for your kind generosity!

Your Legacy In Action
There are several strategies for expanding your charitable giving, both now and continuing after your lifetime. We’re grateful to you for considering this method of support for your community. (Talk with your attorney or tax advisor about which of these options is best for your situation.) While we can put a number on the funding amount given, the unseen generous support made possible by you for each neighbor in need is immeasurable!
Donor Advised Fund (DAF)
According to the DAF Research Collaborative, grants from Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) totaled $64.89B in 2024. A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a charitable giving account established at a public charity that allows you to make an irrevocable, tax-deductible contribution — such as cash, stock, or complex assets — and receive an immediate tax deduction. Think of it as a dedicated “charitable savings account” where funds can be invested for tax-free growth, allowing you to recommend grants to IRS-qualified nonprofits at any point in the future, providing maximum flexibility in your philanthropy. DAFs are often used to consolidate giving, avoid capital gains taxes on appreciated securities, or “bunch” multiple years of donations into one tax year to maximize tax benefits.
