Over 9,000 pounds donated!

A huge thank you to our letter carriers, over 60 volunteers, and everyone who donated food for making this year’s Stamp Out Hunger a great success!

Stamp Out Hunger is an annual event organized by the National Association of Letter Carriers to help fight hunger across the United States. The event takes place on the second Saturday of May and encourages people to donate non-perishable food items to their local food banks.

All of the food donated in the Saline zip code goes directly to Saline Area Social Service. This year, the Saline community’s generosity was truly inspiring, resulting in over 9,000 pounds of food donated to help local families in need.

Food insecurity remains a critical issue in our community, and events like Stamp Out Hunger help to raise awareness and provide critical support to those who need it most. Hunger can affect anyone, regardless of their age, race, or socioeconomic status, and it’s essential that we all do our part to help alleviate this problem.

Thank you!

Thank you again to everyone who participated in this year’s event. Your kindness and generosity have made a real difference in the lives of families in our community. Together, we can continue to make a positive impact and work towards a future where no one has to go hungry.

A special thank you to Kinetico CGC Water Treatment for donating bottled water, Mancino’s Pizza and Grinders for donating lunch for the letter carriers, and Hungry Howie’s for donating pizza for the volunteers at the pantry!
