ELIGIBILITY

SASS provides food to anyone in need of help. We have 3 levels of service.

1. To qualify for SASS full shopping services only your household must either live within the boundaries of the Saline Area Schools District or have a child that attends school in the Saline Area School district.
2. To qualify for SASS full client services beyond food assistance, your household Adjusted Gross Income must not exceed 300% of the United States Department of Health and Human Services poverty level (see table) and you must either live within the boundaries of the Saline Area School District or have a child that attends Saline Area Schools.
3. If your household does NOT live within the boundaries of the Saline Area Schools District or have a child that attends Saline Area, you are eligible to receive a to-go bag of food each week.

Your application must include:

1. 2025 federal income tax return (first page of the 1040) for all adults in the household
2. Documentation of all income for members of your HH (SSI,SSDI, Child support, unemployment, foster child monthly stipend, pension, annuities)
3. Current lease or proof of residency in the Saline School District or proof of School of Choice (accepted documentation includes lease, water bill, DTE bill, school of choice letter, or most recent student report card)
4. Photo identification for ALL adults in the household
5. Completed Client Registration Form – in office form to be filled out at SASS
6. Link2Feed Registration Form – in office form to be filled out at SASS
7. Report card for all school-aged children (most recent)

To be a “Full Shopping Client”, please provide:

1. Current lease or proof of residency in the Saline School District or proof of School of Choice (accepted documentation includes lease, water bill, DTE bill, school of choice letter, or most recent student report card)
2. Photo identification for ALL adults in the household
3. Completed Client Registration Form – in office form to be filled out at SASS
4. Link2Feed Registration Form – in office form to be filled out at SASS
5. Report card for all school-aged children (most recent)
