We are so grateful to everyone who helped make the Easter Meal Distribution a success this year! Thank you for supporting Saline families in need.

The annual Easter Meal Distribution took place on Sunday. This event is truly a community effort and a testament to the caring and generosity in Saline. Together we were able to provide a delicious meal and gifts for nearly 300 people in need.

Holiday meal distributions are one of the oldest traditions here at SASS. That’s how we started 60 years ago! There are so many people to thank for helping put this event together, but first and foremost:

Thank you to everyone who sponsored an Easter Meal this year. You were all so incredibly generous and we are overwhelmed by the outpouring of kindness in our community. Thank you for helping keep this tradition alive.

Special thanks to…

The Mullick Family Foundation for supplying a first aid kit from Saline Pharmacy for every household, St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church for putting together Easter baskets with toys and candy for all the kids, and the Quilting Group at First Presbyterian Church of Saline for providing beautiful quilts.

The distribution also included a holiday baking kit (including cake mix and frosting), bag of household essentials provided through a grant from Washtenaw County, and a ham paid for by an in-store food drive at Busch’s Fresh Food Market.

Volunteers!

A huge thank you to the employees from Thomas Reuters, the Saline Area Social Service student representatives, members of the SHS National Honors Society and Interact Club, and community members who volunteered their time over the last few weeks and on Sunday for this event.

And thank you to…

St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church for providing gift cards for our senior clients at Mill Pond Manor (doubled through the Truck Hero donation match challenge!) and Saline First Assembly of God for generously sharing your space with us both to store the household bags and for the distribution day.

Thank you to everyone on staff here at SASS for your hard work for one of our biggest events of the year. Congratulations on a job well done!
