Thank you for giving!

On GivingTuesday, November 28, 2023, Reinhart Realtors in Saline continued its support of Saline Area Social Service (SASS) by hosting a donation match challenge and holiday cookie sale. The event exceeded its fundraising goal of $35,000, thanks to the overwhelming support of the Saline community. 

“We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of our community, not just on GivingTuesday, but throughout the entire year,” said Jodi Hilberer, Development Manager at SASS. “The money raised will make a significant impact in supporting our neighbors in need.” 

This is the seventh year that Reinhart Realtors in Saline, in collaboration with the Reinhart Charitable Foundation, has hosted a GivingTuesday donation challenge and cookie fundraiser for SASS. The Ryder-Faulstich Foundation played a pivotal role this year by providing a 100% match for the first $10,000 donated by the community. The event featured a variety of delicious cookies, photos with Ruby the Golden Retriever, and sessions with Reach Bodywork Studio Ann Arbor. 

The Saline community came together in the spirit of giving, and numerous individuals, groups, and businesses contributed to the success of the event. Special mention goes to the Saline American Legion Post 322, St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Saline Council No. 6674, Stone and Thistle Garden Club, Nancy Miller, Salt Valley Arts and McPherson Local, and all the Reinhart Realtors who made individual donations. 

The success of the GivingTuesday donation challenge and cookie fundraiser would not have been possible without the leadership and planning efforts of Elke Van Dyke, Courtney Bersuder, Todd Lands, Nora Hamouda, and Darby Colano.  

Saline Area Social Service expresses its deepest gratitude to everyone involved, from donors to volunteers, for making a difference in the lives of those in need. The success of this event reinforces the community’s spirit of generosity and compassion.

Saline Area Social Service (SASS) is a private, tax-exempt non-profit organization that has been in the community for over 60 years and serves the most vulnerable students, families and senior citizens that live in and around the Saline area. SASS’s mission is to provide food, emergency aid, and support to those in need in the Saline community.
