Reinhart Realtors’ 5th Annual GivingTuesday cookie sale sets a goal to raise $30,000 for Saline Area Social Service.
Donate $20 or more on November 30th and receive a dozen cookies.
Saline, MI — This GivingTuesday, Reinhart Realtors will continue its support of Saline Area Social Service (SASS) by hosting a cookie sale fundraiser. To encourage community giving, individuals who donate $20 or more at the Reinhart office in Saline on Tuesday, November 30th, will receive a dozen cookies. Additionally, the first $10,000 in community donations will be matched at 100% by the Reinhart Charitable Foundation. SASS is a non-profit organization that provides food assistance and emergency aid for an average of 300 Saline area residents each week. Reinhart hopes to raise $30,000 for SASS this GivingTuesday.
GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past nine years, it has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
“After all the ups and downs of the last year and a half, SASS is living proof of the power of grassroots generosity and community action in Saline,” said Elke Van Dyke, Sales Manager – Reinhart Saline. “This is a fantastic opportunity for people to come together, show kindness, and share what they have with those in need. Plus, the cookie sale is a fun way to kick off the holiday season.”
SASS is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization that serves the City of Saline and a portion of the surrounding townships. The organization has a 60-year history in Saline and is the only local resource that provides food and emergency relief. Of their 300+ clients, nearly 40% are children and 20% of the adults served are senior citizens. During the early months of COVID-19, SASS provided assistance for nearly 700 people per week. Thanks to immense community support in 2020, SASS was able to distribute enough food for over 160,000 meals, provide back to school supplies and shoes, boots and snow pants to area youth, and help with emergency assistance, such as eviction, utility shut off, and car repairs.
This will be the fifth year in a row that Reinhart Realtors has hosted a GivingTuesday cookie fundraiser for SASS. Last year, the sale raised over $62,000 for the food assistance and emergency aid programs at SASS.
“Since SASS is a local organization, you can be confident that donations will go directly towards supporting individuals, families, students, and seniors needing help right here in Saline,” said Anne Cummings, Executive Director of SASS. “We are so grateful for the continuing support of our incredible community, and for Reinhart Realtors and the Reinhart Charitable Foundation’s commitment to helping us better serve those in need during times of emergency.”
Individuals and organizations that would like to take part in Reinhart’s GivingTuesday cookie sale, and take advantage of the 100% match, can donate curbside at the front entrance to the Reinhart office at 1020 E. Michigan Ave in Saline between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. or all day online at salinesocialservice.com/giving-tuesday on Tuesday, November 30, 2021. Individuals who donate $20 or more will receive their choice of one dozen homemade or store-bought, prepackaged cookies. Reinhart Realtors will also be collecting gently used coats on behalf of SASS during the cookie sale.
